Sen. Moran Hosts Town Hall Meeting in WaKeeney
Dec 31 2013
MANHATTAN, KAN. – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) recently visited WaKeeney, Kan., on his latest Kansas Listening Tour as he makes stops in each of Kansas’ 105 counties. More than 40 folks from the area turned out to share concerns and give feedback on health care, the Farm Bill, education, new voting rules in the U.S. Senate, and wind energy.
“It was a pleasure to get a good dose of Kansas common sense from WaKeeney residents,” Sen. Moran said. “I always appreciate the opportunity to hear from Kansans on the many federal issues facing rural America. Hearing directly from Kansans gives me a better understanding of their views and the ways I can better serve them in Washington, D.C.”
Throughout his time in Congress, Sen. Moran has made it a priority to stay connected to the people he represents despite a distance of more than 1,000 miles between Capitol Hill and Kansas. Since his election to the U.S. Senate, Sen. Moran has held a town hall in each of Kansas’ 105 counties. Then-Congressman Moran traveled to each of the 69 counties during his annual “Big First Listening Tour.”
