Senators seek FBI probe of former U.S. Olympic Committee chief executive

Leaders of a congressional subcommittee investigating the U.S. Olympic Committee’s response to the gymnastics sexual-abuse scandal on Friday referred former USOC chief executive Scott Blackmun to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice for investigation, saying Mr. Blackmun made false statements in a written statement to the subcommittee.

Sens. Jerry Moran (R., Kan.), chairman of the subcommittee, and Richard Blumenthal (D., Conn.), its ranking member, made the referral, which details potential violations.
