WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) today announced updates to his communications staff and new contact information. Morgan Said will now serve as Press Secretary and Trenton Kennedy has recently been hired to serve as Press Assistant. Tom Brandt will remain the Communications Director.

The following is a brief background of Sen. Moran’s communications staff: 

Tom Brandt, Communications Director: Brandt has served as Sen. Moran’s Communications Director since June of 2017. Before serving as Sen. Moran’s Communication Director, Brandt worked in Corporate Communications at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and served as manager of the Global Issues Management Team. Prior to HPE, Brandt served as Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins’ Communications Director and as Senior Leadership Advisor while Congresswoman Jenkins served as Vice Chair of the House Republican Conference. Brandt began his career on Capitol Hill working for Congressman Roy Blunt and served as Deputy Press Secretary after Blunt’s election to the U.S. Senate. Brandt also worked for Governor Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign in 2012. A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Brandt graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri. At the University of Missouri, Brandt was tapped into QEBH Senior Honor Society and ODK National Leadership Honor Society.

Morgan Said, Press Secretary: Said has served on Sen. Moran’s communications team since July of 2017, first as deputy press secretary before advancing into the press secretary role. She previously served as Communications Director for Kansas State Senate President Susan Wagle and as a Legislative Correspondent for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins during her tenure as Vice Chair of the House Republican Conference. Said, a Shawnee, Kansas native, attended the University of Kansas and served as the student body president. Said is a William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications graduate.

Trenton Kennedy, Press Assistant: Kennedy joined Sen. Moran’s staff in June of 2018. Kennedy previously worked as a Deputy Field Director for Sen. Moran’s 2016 reelection campaign. Kennedy also interned at Quorum Analytics and served as a page for the U.S. Senate Republican Cloakroom. Kennedy later served as an intern for the U.S. Senate Republican Cloakroom. Kennedy, a native of Frankfort, Kansas, attended Kansas State University and served as student body vice president.
