Committee Assignments
The United States Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry oversees matters relating to agricultural economics and research, extension services, production, commodities and crop insurance. It also has jurisdiction over food stamp programs, forestry, nutrition and rural development to assist farmers, ranchers, rural communities and underserved areas across the country.

Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee:
The United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation has a vast range of issues under its jurisdiction. These issues range from communications, highways, aviation, rail, shipping, transportation security, merchant marine, the Coast Guard, oceans, fisheries, climate change, disasters, science, space, interstate commerce, tourism, consumer issues, economic development, technology, competitiveness, product safety and insurance.

Indian Affairs Committee:
The United States Senate Committee on Indian Affairs oversees federal policies and laws affecting Native American tribes, including issues related to tribal sovereignty, land, economic development, health and education. It also monitors federal recognition of tribes and agreements between the federal government and Native American communities.

The United States Senate Select Committee on Intelligence provides critical legislative oversight of intelligence activities and programs of the U.S. government in order to make certain these functions conform to the Constitution and laws of our nation.
Chairman - Veterans' Affairs Committee:
The United States Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs has jurisdiction over compensation of veterans, life insurance issued by the Government due to military service, national cemeteries, pensions and readjustment of servicemembers to civil life.
