Senator drops by local high school

Jerry Moran, Kansas Republican United States Senator, enjoys dropping by Kansas public schools in order to meet students and staff and get to touch base with local programs and curriculum.

Senator Moran joined other Senate leaders recently in renewing the Perkins Career and Technical Education Act, a bill to provide funding for critical career and technical education. The reauthorization will help align career and technical education programs to local labor market needs and increase student participation in work-based learning opportunities outside of the classrooms. 

The program helps young people turn their technical education into quality careers and create a larger talent pool for employers to hire from.
