Kansas Senator Jerry Moran says congress needs a compromise soon.

Moran says the shutdown has too many consequences, and the government needs to be fully funded so workers can receive a paycheck.

Border security is also one of his concerns. He says immigration reform is key to solving the issue.

"The president wants $5-Billion. The bill already includes $1.3-Billion. Surely there's a number in between those two that could help resolve this. And surely there can be an agreement that will let the experts decide what the border security, what's most needed. What the priorities should be, and what it should look like," he said.

He hopes leadership from both the House and Senate will work with the President soon, but he would like to see any funding bill introduced brought before the full Senate for a vote.
