WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (Kan.) today released the following statement regarding the passing of former Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe:

“Senator Inhofe will be remembered for his love for his family, his country, Oklahoma and flying. Jim’s service to his country began with military service and continued in the Oklahoma House of Representatives and the United States Senate.

“During his nearly 30 years on Capitol Hill, Jim worked to support Oklahoma and was particularly passionate about preserving the natural resources of the state and advocating for children in foster care. Through his leadership on the Armed Services Committee, he worked to make certain our troops were always ready and equipped but also well cared for and supported.

“Jim was a friend, father and grandfather who was passionate about flying his plane, visiting communities across Oklahoma and spending time with his family. I am thankful for the years Jim and I worked in the Senate together. Robba and I are praying for the Inhofe family during this time.”
