WASHINGTON – Last night, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a resolution introduced by U.S. Senators Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.) – members of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Subcommittee on Aviation, Space and Innovation – designating May 2, 2025, as National Space Day.
“Kansas has a rich history in aviation and aerospace manufacturing and is an important contributor to this new era of space exploration,” said Sen. Moran. “The aerospace community in Wichita – the Air Capital of the World – and across the country has secured America’s leadership in space exploration. This resolution honors America’s pioneering achievements in space and is a commitment to continue supporting new advancements in space exploration.”
“From one small step for man to giant leaps for mankind, the U.S. has redefined what’s possible in space,” said Sen. Hickenlooper. “National Space Day will honor that legacy, especially here in Colorado—and keep us reaching for what’s next.”
