“I have been impressed with Lieutenant General Martin since we first met on the parade field of Fort Riley as he took command of 1st Infantry Division. Lieutenant General Martin is a reliable and trusted leader and well-deserving of this assignment and tremendous opportunity to lead our soldiers at the highest level, and I can think of no better soldier to assume this new role as Army Vice Chief of Staff.
