WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (Kan.) today announced a $1.2 million Department of Education grant for Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland designed to help colleges expand their ability to serve low-income students.

“Northwest Kansas Technical College equips students with the skills they need to start their careers and fill critical jobs here in Kansas,” said Sen. Moran. “These resources will provide students with hands-on learning experiences and establish an early intervention program to identify students who need additional assistance to succeed in the classroom.”

These resources will support apprenticeships and work-based learning opportunities, career readiness counseling and early alert and intervention systems to help students achieve academic excellence.
