WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) – a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) – today announced federal investments for three communities in southwest Kansas to replace bridges in Comanche County, Pawnee County and the City of Kinsley. These resources were awarded by the Department of Transportation through the Competitive Highway Bridge Program, part of the FY2025 THUD Appropriations bill.
“Investing in the infrastructure in rural communities improves public safety and makes certain that Kansans have safe and efficient access to hospitals, schools, workplaces and more," said Sen. Moran. "These federal resources will help replace and modernize three bridges in southwest Kansas that are crucial for connecting surrounding communities and facilitating transportation and commerce throughout the state.”
