WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) – a senior member of the Senate Commerce and Appropriations Committees – and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) – a senior member of the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees – are leading a bipartisan congressional delegation to France to participate in the Paris Air Show, which will run from June 19 to June 25 and feature aerospace, aviation and defense manufacturers from Kansas, New Hampshire and around the United States.

“Kansas has a rich history of aviation and manufacturing, linked with a culture that thrives on innovation. Over the past several years, we have brought new business to our state and expanded opportunities for the companies that currently call Kansas home,” said Sen. Moran. “As we build on these successes, I look forward to sharing our state and nation’s capabilities in aerospace and defense at this year’s forum. I am also pleased to co-lead a bipartisan group of senators with Sen. Shaheen to the aviation and defense forum and to meet with government and business leaders from around the world. At a time when China poses significant threats to democratic countries around the world and Russia is waging an unjust war against Ukraine, it is imperative to show that Americans are united with our partners to bolster our national security and to promote a secure and economically vibrant world.”

“The Paris Air Show is an incredible opportunity for some of New Hampshire’s top aerospace and defense companies to showcase their cutting-edge technologies on the world stage, and I am proud to support these companies. The event also provides our congressional delegation the opportunity to meet with officials from France and around the world to strengthen our bilateral diplomatic relationships and collaborate on shared national security priorities, from supporting our democratic allies in Ukraine to countering an increasingly aggressive Chairman Xi regime,” said Sen. Shaheen. “I am excited to co-lead this bipartisan group of lawmakers to this defense forum, reaffirming the common ground between Democrats and Republicans on bolstering our national defense and safeguarding our national security.”

Joining Sens. Moran and Shaheen are U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), John Boozman (R-Ark.), Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), Katie Britt (R-Ala.) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.). A group of lawmakers from the House of Representatives will also join the senators as participants in the defense forum.
