WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) joined his Senate colleagues to address the Biden administration’s American energy restrictions while foreign adversaries like Iran continue to produce and export oil around the world."

“We earn a living in Kansas, and we produce lots of energy from lots of sources,” said Sen. Moran. “That energy creates jobs, helps families and makes life better for Kansans. Energy is a significant component of our country’s future. It matters economically and for our national security.”

“It is a terrible decision by the administration to pause on the export of liquified natural gas,” continued Sen. Moran. “Our allies and friends need the resources that the United States can provide. We should be the energy leader of the world.”

“Iran is the largest exporter of terrorism in the world, and they afford to be that by producing and selling oil,” said Sen. Moran. “Congress has passed law after law to impose sanctions on Iran. The administration announced more sanctions on Iran, but the reality is this administration fails to support the sanctions that are already in place. We have put bipartisan sanctions in place time and time again and yet, since the Biden administration took office, Iran oil exports have increased at alarming rates. Iranian oil production is at a five-year high. Iran sells 90 percent of its oil to China at discounted rates – freeing up money for China to seek their aggression in the South China Sea and around the world.”

“It is time for us to be and remain the producer of our own energy sources and protect and serve our allies and most importantly, not reward our enemies,” concluded Sen. Moran.
